Debbie's Tried & True Home Selling Hints for You!
These ideas represent the absolutely best ways to prepare your home to sell for more money and more quickly. Although you may not be able to do everything recommended, do as many as you possibly can. That will assure you the very best results.*
-
Thoroughly clean entire house - Nothing makes a bigger difference to a prospective Buyer.
-
Clear out clutter. Make rooms and closets look as empty as possible (like a model home). If no room . . . rent a storage unit. (When it comes to moving time, you've got most of the work already done!)
-
Repair everything that is broken, rotted, or otherwise in need.
-
Powerwash the exterior and/or paint if siding and/or trim need it.
-
Paint interior if necessary, at very least, clean walls, baseboard, trim and wash windows.
-
Clean carpeting or replace if needed.
-
The absolute cleanest rooms in your home should be the kitchen and baths.
-
Let the light shine in . . . minimize or remove anything that darkens rooms.
-
Replace any old appliances or fixtures and gain an edge over your competition.
-
Work on yard cleanup and maintenance. Homes with neat yards sell faster.
And Last But Not Least . . .
-
Do your best to keep the house in good showing condition daily. It's certainly not easy, but will be well worth your effort.
* If your budget allows, have someone do the necessary work for you!
REMEMBER: You don’t sell a house the way you live in it.
